The Gateway to the Amazon
Located in northern Peru along the Amazon river basin, Yurimaguas is a thriving port city
of 64,000 residents. Strategically situated between the Huallaga and Paranapura rivers, it
is a critical trade center for hardwoods and petroleum. Yurimaguas is also one of the last
urban centers accessible by paved roads when driving north. For Roman Catholics, the
city is a popular destination for celebrating the Assumption holiday.
What We’re Doing
Beyond its beauty and culture, Yurimaguas is a strategic entry point into the region. On
this expedition, we will share the Gospel through home-to-home visits across the area.
You will have the opportunity to meet new believers who are taking their first steps as
followers of Christ. We will partner with them to establish new churches and invite
people into a relationship with Jesus.
It will be the first mission trip that I have been a part of. Please pray for our group as we go out and share the story of Jesus. A bonus for the trip is that I get to spend it with my daughter Cooper and doing something that she loves; spreading the word of GOD.
