For those of you who don't know, I am a first year pharmacy student. The Lord has placed before me an exciting opportunity. I will be going on my first medical mission trip with 10 other classmates and 10 nursing students to Yurimaguas, Peru in June for about 10 days.

Located in northern Peru along the Amazon river basin, Yurimaguas is a thriving port city

of 64,000 residents. Strategically situated between the Huallaga and Paranapura rivers, it

is a critical trade center for hardwoods and petroleum. Yurimaguas is also one of the last

urban centers accessible by paved roads when driving north. For Roman Catholics, the city is a popular destination for celebrating the Assumption holiday.

Our team will provide healthcare services such as screenings, medicines, and eyeglasses to the people of Yurimaguas. When we are not in the clinic, we will partner with national churches and believers to target unreached areas with the Gospel. Each day we will team up with several national believers, including a translator, and go home to home sharing Christ with those we meet. One result of this trip will be new churches started within walking distance for many in Yurimaguas.

This is sure to be a life-changing experience for me, our team and the people of Yurimaguas. I believe God is calling me to go, however, this can only happen if others help send me. The total cost for this expedition is $2800, which will cover my travel, accommodations, meals, translators, etc. The majority of the funds will be due very soon.
