I love watching God work. Charlie and I have always had a heart for missions. Not only for sharing Jesus with those who do not know Him, but also for inspiring and encouraging young people to see how they can serve and share God with their lives. A huge part of that lesson is helping them develop a Biblical worldview- opening up their understanding that God does not favor one country, or one people, or one time over another. That He, our precious Savior, died for every soul on the planet, and we, as His children that know Him, are to share that truth with as many as possible.
We have been offered an opportunity to do both- to lead a small group of young adults to work with the Restored & Renewed Ministry in France for a week. We will be serving a ministry that serves missionaries as well as mentoring young people in expanding their Biblical worldview and the ways they can serve the Lord. We are beyond excited for this chance! We have been invited to serve the Restored & Renewed Ministry by helping them prepare for a packed summer of serving missionaries from all over Europe and Africa. Some of the work we will be doing is helping to build a retaining wall, making and freezing meals and baked goods to feed the missionaries and their families throughout the summer, working the garden, as well as cleaning and preparing the chateau for the coming guests.
Charlie and I will be leading a group that includes our family and four more teenage young ladies on this mission trip. The main group will stay and work for a week, though, Grace, our eldest daughter, will stay to serve for a month. Our group of 10 will meet up with one of the facilitators of the Restored & Renewed Ministry, Heather Sutherlin, and her daughter, Evie, and we are so excited for the lessons that they will share with us and our group about the reality of being a missionary and the plethora of ways you can serve God through the talents He gave you, no matter where you are in the world.
To make this amazing opportunity a reality, we need your help. We need help in raising the $14,000 needed to cover the trip expense for the three adults and three young adults going from our family, including Grace, who will be serving there for a month. Charlie and I realize that this is an extraordinary amount of money to be trying to raise, but we also know we serve an extraordinary God who provides. We are praying that you will be willing to cover the cost of one of our Team. The cost per person is $2,330. Our goal is to glorify God through this trip, while guiding the young people with us to grow closer to Him through the experiences they will have and the service they will provide.
Any amount you can share to make this mission trip a reality is greatly appreciated! To donate to this mission trip, please click this link to our family page on the Restored & Renewed website. All donations are through the ministry, and are tax deductible.
It is an honor to partner with you in guiding young people in their journey to know and serve our Lord. We appreciate your support and prayer more than we can describe!
In Him,
Charlie, Carla, Grace, Bella, Colton, and Declan Stevens
Restored & Renewed Ministry serves missionaries around the world by providing care that prevents them from leaving the missionary field for preventable reasons like burnout, marital issues, parenting struggles, depression, and grief. R&R owns a small chateau in the French countryside that serves as a place of respite where missionaries can find rest and restore their peace, empowering them to return to their work in the field. Missionaries and their families are given private rooms and served three meals a day at no expense to them. They are also offered counseling services if needed.
