This summer, we have been offered the opportunity to take part in a spiritual journey and mission trip with a group of other students. Together we will take a rugged camping, hiking, rafting journey through the Rocky Mountains and across the desert to the West coast. 

While we hike and camp in the wilderness of the Rockies, we will be led by a Spiritual Director who will be preparing us to serve the poorest of the poor on the other side of the Border.  At the end of our journey we will be building homes for the poor with Olivia’s Basket, a charity that works to provide safe homes for families in need in Mexico’s poorest communities. https://www.oliviasbasket.org

We have both had  challenging and productive school years, and this summer we are looking forward to pushing ourselves physically and spiritually to new levels. The Abide Student Adventure is just what the doctor ordered! Created to build self-awareness, teamwork skills, wilderness abilities and stewardship responsibility, we believe this trip will help prepare us well for the next stages of our lives.  Additionally, the preparation time in the great wildernesses of the American West combined with experienced missionaries’ spiritual direction will prepare us well to serve the poorest of the poor, because the last thing these families need is a tourist.
