Nine year old, Teal, has been fighting a rare brain cancer and her most recent MRI showed significant progression of one of the tumors in her brain. This is serious, and her family is entering another very difficult chapter.

Teal is going to be getting 10 fractions of full brain photon radiation. She previously had 34 fractions of proton beam radiation at the max dose, so this time it is a complicated process. She is upset that she will be losing her hair again soon. We are hopeful that this can slow things down and give Teal more good time feeling like herself. She will be living at St Jude again for at least a month.

The next several weeks and months are going to require a lot from their family. Teal’s mom is going to be away from work without pay so that she can be with Teal and help care for her through treatment and whatever symptoms may come with it. At the same time, she is also suffering her own medical challenge that has her both worried and conflicted to take care of herself when she wants to be with Teal to care for her. There will be more travel, appointments, treatments, and a lot of uncertainty.

“ A lot of people have asked how they can help us. Prayers mean more than we can explain. If anyone would also like to help financially support Teal, anything given will go toward helping us take care of Teal and giving her as many comfortable, happy experiences with her family as we can while we continue fighting alongside her. With her mom being off work it is going to make some things difficult, so we are appreciative of any support.

We are scared. Teal's condition is very serious. But we still have hope, there is still a plan, and most importantly, Teal is still here with us. We are going to keep loving her, fighting for her, and making memories with her and Judd one day at a time.
