We all have limits and experience adversity. We all have strengths and talents too. I believe our stories are still being written. We decide what to do with the time given to us. There are more forces at work in this world besides the will of evil. We choose to side with good. That means work, and fun.

Training and planning are work. Racing is fun. Fun means the margin for success in training and racing is wide. Races are on par with vacations for us; we visit races as a family. We celebrate finishers. In fact, as often as we can, we’ll stay to cheer until the last finisher crosses the line. We want to see our children contend for great things with all of their strength.

We started where so many others start, in awe of the crazy people that undertake something so ridiculous as a triathlon and call it fun. I cannot explain to you the process that happens inside a person to move from flabbergasted bystander to endurance athlete, but I can tell you it’s worth it physically, mentally, and spiritually. It is a metamorphosis that everyone needs to experience. Not everyone has to go triathlon crazy. Just find something that offers a feeling of excitement, fun, and escape. Then, practice applying your whole self to it.

We are all built out of physical, emotional, and spiritual stuff. For us triathlon started as a physical question and an emotional catharsis. A challenge to see what we could do and to honor the memory of Becky's mom who passed from complications of MS. It has become something much more.

My Encouragement
Friends and fellow athletes Scott and Jo have done an amazing thing bringing together MS and triathlon with the TRIFEST for MS. Are you kidding?! A physical adventure, a team of like minded athletes, a way to increase awareness and raise money all to stick it to this lousy disease?! We would have been disappointed to be left out.

Dedication
We dedicate our race give the hope of a healthy life back to anyone who might have lost it.  Becky chooses to complete endurance races even with MS. What will you choose to make your life better with the time and body you have?
