Hello, we are Tiffany and Todd Terranova. We have been blissfully married for almost 7 years. From our first date nearly 9 years ago we both knew we wanted a big family. We knew we wanted adoption to be a part of our story. That's when we first looked into adopting in Haiti but at the time, they required couples be married for at least 10 years to qualify. We also started trying to get pregnant shortly after we were married but still to no avail. Over the last five years, we have tried nearly everything, fertility specialists, countless tests, surgery, multiple rounds of IUI, alternative treatments, etc but because of health reasons, we are unable to pursue IVF. We sadly miscarried and have yet to be blessed with another pregnancy. However, we have been blessed in many other ways. Over the last year we have been able to foster 5 children in our home. First a beautiful newborn baby girl for 3 months. Then soon after we accepted a sibling group of four into home for the next 7 months. We had hoped to adopt them all and were heartbroken when that didn't work out however, it did give us the confidence to know we are ready for children and the challenges it affords. They changed us forever and we will never forget them. We may foster children again but we dream to meet our forever child. Our hearts have drawn us to Haiti. Since the earthquake we have been trying to find ways to help. When the rules of Haitian adoptions changed so that couples only had to be married at least 5 years we knew our answer. What more profound effect could we have on a child's life than to provide them with a stable, safe, and loving home? If you have felt the same calling please help us make this dream a reality. You could play an integral part in changing a child's life for the better and ours as well. We are hoping to adopt a young boy from Haiti or possibly a sibling group of two. At times, because of the costs, we were worried it would not be possible for us. We are rich in love but not in wealth. Once our home study is completed in April, we can start applying for adoption grants. It is a humbling experience to ask our community for help. In the end though, we pray, it could reward us all in ways we never dreamed.
