We fell in love the minute we saw each other. We married young, we were still kids ourselves and wanted to have some of our own. We waited and hoped, but God had different plans. Three years went by and finally we got pregnant, we couldn't carry the babies, through infertility and three miscarriages, we fell apart. We fell out of love and out of hope... We got pregnant again, but this time was different. At 23 weeks the doctor said she was a girl, a girl with Dandy Walker Syndrome with a 5% chance of survival. Her name was Ava. Ava had a nursery, little dresses and two parents who loved each other and loved her. Ava Violet was stillborn at 39 weeks and life changed. As we held her lifeless little body, we were bound to each other and bound to Jesus Christ in a way that would never make sense. We had hope in our darkest moment...only God does something like that.
Our Luca boy was born a little more than a year later. His name means "bringer of light" and if you've ever met him, you'd know it fits perfectly.
Julian came 2 1/2 years later and the doctor called him "little stinker", he is. He brings joy and life to every place he enters. He was pregnancy number ten, and some complications caused momma to have a full hysterectomy.
Through infertility and loss, adoption had been on our hearts for a long time. We have prayed and waited and God has called us to start this journey of bringing home a little girl from Ethiopia.
God is taking great care of our daughter in heaven and now He is calling us to take care of one of His here. Our hearts were pulled to Ethiopia and our two boys are already getting excited to meet their sister! (Try explaining years to a four year old!!)
We are just starting our journey and would be honored if you would join us in caring for and loving the least of these. Thank you so much and God bless you for sharing our story!
