It is so exciting and so humbling to see how the Lord began this journey of reshaping so many aspects of what we believed “family” to be. We believe that God’s purpose and design for family is so much deeper and richer than what we can imagine—it crosses cultural differences, life experiences, social norms, and proximity; it unites people together for the ultimate purpose of bringing glory to the Father.

One of the most important truths in the Bible is the fact that God chooses us to become heirs of God, sons and daughters, and co-heirs with Christ (Rom 8:17). This is foundationally amazing, as we realize that adoption is truly at the heart of the Gospel. As Christians, we are humbled to be adopted into God’s family.

While we knew we wanted a big family, we also knew that God had placed adoption in our hearts early on as a way to grow our family. We didn’t quite know the timeline – but sensed God’s call to adopt before we were even married. In fact, we always knew in the back of our minds that it would happen when God let it happen. And now, we are excited to announce that it “is happening”!

Shortly before Easter 2015, we knew that it was time to move forward. Through several confirmations, God led us to partner with Covenant Care Services out of Macon, Georgia. We were so encouraged by their tremendous heart to care for and serve pregnant mothers, and how everything they do is framed by the Gospel.So here we are, just beginning our home study process. We would cherish your prayers and support! We can’t wait to see how God works in our family during this journey. Right now, we would love your prayers specifically for these things:

• That God would protect the new baby/child that He has for us. Whether he/she is being formed right at this moment, is already born, or has not been formed just yet, we trust that His timing is perfect and that there is no detail that slips through His hands.
  
  
• That the birth mother would be loved and cared for so well during this time. It is an incredibly significant decision to choose life.
  
  
• That our hearts would be prepared for this new season of growth for our family. We are so excited, but we know that in any transition, there can be difficulties and hard decisions to navigate.
  
  
• That our community would be like-minded, supportive, and encouraged during this adoption journey. We recognize that our journey is one of many, and our hope is that others would be reminded of the fact that we're adopted into God's family.
