People Bridge has three main focus’ in Kenya: education, entrepreneurship, and
faith in Jesus. We believe that education is key and needed for youth and adults. We believe that hand-outs can be helpful during urgent times, but training in self-sustaining
entrepreneurship is the long-term solution to self-sustainability. We believe that Jesus
is the foundation.
We are asking friends to sacrifice beside us as we partner with Work for Life and bring
business ownership training to a new level through our partners.
A one-time or monthly will enable 6000 people to be trained in business
ownership by the end of 2023 in Kenya. It costs $12 total to train one person over
a 20-week course. Our goal is $18,000 committed total by December 30th to cover the
2023 need.
These students are a part of communities of learners who go through the training
together and encourage each other in the launching of businesses in their communities.
83% of students who complete the training go on to increase their weekly net revenue
within 6 months. On average, Work for Life businesses provide sustainability to three
direct employees and a broader network of 18 friends and family connected to those
employees.
The funding that you give goes directly to the trainers that lead these groups. They find
the men and women that are already meeting together or start groups of 20-30 people.
The young woman that we have hired full-time in Kenya to be
the Work for Life Coordinator is Jackeline Saleiyan. She is a firecracker. She is a leader.
She went through the training last year with six
others in Kenya and has been a part of training others weekly without a salary.
We have the structure in place where my good friend,
Randy Wilson, leads the charge from the States and
leads the leaders in Africa. We met at his office in
Alabama earlier this year and talk weekly to
encourage and strategically plan.
The reason this is so exciting to me is the far reaching effect. It does not only impact
the business owner. It impacts their family and those around them. It impacts the local
church that they can give to. It stimulates the local economy. It provides education for
children, access to healthcare, clean water, healthy food, and stable homes. When done
well, business creation can solve many of the greatest physical challenges we see
across Kenya. For many stories of success www.iworkforlife.com/success/
Thank you for prayerfully considering this opportunity.
