Hello, there! ¿Cómo estás? ;)
Those of you who know me pretty well are also well aware of my love and passion for missions. Whether it be missions across the continent to Africa or missions right here in the States, mission work has always been my joy, passion, and dream.
This winter semester, I have been given the opportunity to go to Nicaragua through Southern Adventist University. From March 2nd to the 13th, the 18 of us will be traveling to the humble village of Francia Sirpi, the Miskito region of Nicaragua, reaching out to the Natives and working alongside the Tasba Raya ("New Earth") Clinic. Along with providing for their medical needs, we will also be holding an evangelistic series and providing for any other needs the Miskito natives may have. The more I think about it, the more excited I get because this will be my very first MEDICAL mission trip, giving me a little glimpse and taste of what it will be like living my future life endeavors!
However, great opportunities like this don't come free of charge (how awesome would it be if they did, huh?), and in this case, it comes with a relatively daunting cost of $1,800. Nevertheless, as daunting as this amount may be, I know and trust that God will use
you as you become a part of His answer to my prayers!
With that being said, one of the reasons why I love the mission work is because missions is not limited to one type of person, one kind of work, or even one particular area. It's not just limited to doctors and preachers; it doesn't just involve giving free medical treatments, holding evangelistic series, or teaching english in countries abroad. It's not just about getting on a plane, traveling the furthest we can and helping the less-fortunate there. Wherever there is a
need, there is a
mission. In other words, missions and service is simply fulfilling whatever the need is, wherever it may be, whether it be a need of a brand new church construction in Peru or simply a need of a volunteer for the next special music at our home church.
Simply put, ANYONE can do it, and be a part of service ANYwhere!
So, in this new year of 2017, let's encourage one another to seek out the need of those around us, wherever we are, and to be willing to be a part of His mission!
And to those who can help out with a donation, thanks so much for your giving spirit, for investing and supporting me! :)
Much love,
Yuna Han
