Every story matters. The story of the Clark Educational Center began out of loss — and out of love.

It’s named after Tim Clark, an educator and encourager who passed away suddenly in 2014. Just a year later, another dear family friend, Josh Vahle, also an educator with a heart for people, passed away unexpectedly. Their lives continue to inspire everything we do — so the school bears Tim’s name, and the library onsite will honor Josh’s legacy.

The Clark Educational Center, run by our trusted partner Oasis of Hope in the heart of Mathare, Kenya’s second-largest slum, provides a safe and faith-driven place for children to learn and grow. Though the original building was demolished in February 2025, God provided a larger and safer location — a tangible reminder of hope rising from hardship.

Every Saturday, over 200 children from the community gather at Oasis of Hope for mentorship, fun, and encouragement. Many of our sponsored students are part of that family.

This isn’t charity — it’s community. It’s relationship. It’s long-term. We know these families by name, we visit them, and we walk with them for years.
