Absalat was born in 2015. She joined the PATH International Community Based Care Program in 2023.

Absalat Mesfin was in the third group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2023. She was 8 years old when she joined PATH, and she is the youngest of 7 children, having 3 older brothers and 3 older sisters. She enjoys playing a traditional jump rope game with her friends, and she loves to study math in school. Her mother, Alemnesh Negash, came into the program at 40 with only a 6th grade education. She currently sells yogurt and Injera, a local staple food, to support her family. After she receives business training from PATH, she hopes to open a small shop and also expand her Injera business.
