Amen Najib was in the fifth group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2025 at the age of 8, living in Chiro with her mother and one sister. At the time, Amen was enrolled in Grade 3 at Much Ahmed Muche School. At school, she enjoys learning Science and Amharic, and she especially likes playing jump rope with her friends. When she grows up, Amen hopes to become a doctor.
Amen's mother, Kalkidan Wondowosen, entered the program at 28 years old with a junior secondary education. She currently works as a cleaner and also takes on daily labor when available to support her children. The family lives in a rented government mud house that is currently in habitable condition. Through PATH, Kalkidan will receive business training and seed money to begin her own income generating activity and work toward greater financial stability for her family.
