Cara Adhiambo, born on April 4, 2022, joined CGA Pre-Primary One in 2026. She is the last-born in a family of four children. She lives with her widowed mother in rural Mbita, about an hour’s walk from CGA. Her mother supports the family through fish vending. They live in a two-room semi-permanent house without running water or electricity and rely on lake water, solar lighting, and firewood and charcoal for cooking. Cara sleeps on a bed and mattress under a mosquito net with her mother. Her mother appreciates the opportunity to partner with CGA.
