Cindy is a total orphan. Both of her parents died and she was taken in by her cousin and his wife when she was only two years old. The home is a 30 minute walk to CGA. They have no electricity or running water.

Cyndy Akinyi was born September 14th, 2005. She will join Class two in January, 2013. Both of her parents died and was taken in by her cousin and his wife when she was only two years old. She now considers them her parents. They love her so much and Cyndy is blessed to have such a home. She has attended a public school that is very far from her home because the guardian wants her to excel in her education. The house is semi-permanent and is in the process of being changed into a permanent house. It is a 30 minute walk to CGA. They have no electricity or running water. They use paraffin for lighting and fetch lake water and treat it for drinking and cooking. Cyndy’s guardians also takes care of another total orphan who comes to CGA and is in grade two, so she is so excited that they will be walking to school together every day.
