Halcey Atieno was born on July 25th, 2020. She will join Pre-Primary 1 in January 2025. Halcey lives with both parents and is the only child. Her father is blind and jobless, while her mother is a house-help in the neighborhood. They live in a two-room tin house with cemented floor in the rural part of Mbita, about an hour’s walk to CGA. They fetch water from a nearby river for cleaning and cooking and treat the same for drinking. They use solar for lighting and firewood for cooking. Halcey sleeps on a bed and mattress with her parents under a mosquito net. Her parents are very grateful for the chance at CGA.
