Hamdiya was born in 2012. She joined the PATH International Community Based Care Program in 2024.

Hamdiya Shamsu was in the fourth group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2024. She was 12 years old when he joined PATH, and she lives with her mother and one sibling. At school, Hamdiya enjoys all the subjects, and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up. Her mom, Neima Awal, came into the program at 35 years old with no educational background. She currently relies on financial support from her relatives, but she is hopeful to receive business training from PATH in order to begin her own income generating activity.
