Hana Habtamu was in the third group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2023. She was 8 years old when she joined PATH, and she lives with her older sister. Hana enjoys studying the Afan Oromo language in school, and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up. Her mother, Azeb Fikre, came into the program at 35 with only a 3rd grade education. She used to sell tea, but during Covid, she used up all her savings on her children's education. She currently washes clothing and sells kolo, a local snack, to support her family. After receiving business training from PATH, she hopes to open a food shack and sell coffee, tea, and breakfast.
