Helen was born in 2016. She joined the PATH International Community Based Care Program in 2023.

Helen Assefa was in the third group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2023. She was 8 years old when she joined PATH, and she lives with her younger brother. Helen enjoys studying English at school, and she hopes to be a manager when she grows up. Her mother, Wegayew Habtamu, came into the program at 28 years old with only a 4th grade education. She currently washes clothes to support her family, and she is excited to receive business training from PATH in order to improve her business knowledge and start her own coffee stand where she also hopes to sell spices.
