Jabiro Abdella was in the fifth group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2025 at the age of 8, living in Chiro with his mother, three brothers, and one sister. At the time, Jabiro was enrolled in Grade 1 at Much Ahmed Muche School. At school, he enjoys learning Afan Oromo and especially likes playing soccer with his friends. When he grows up, Jabiro hopes to become a pilot.
Jabiro's mother, Arabu Arif, entered the program at 25 years old with an elementary education. She supports her children by washing clothes for others. The family lives in a government-owned mud home that is currently in poor condition. Through PATH, Arabu will receive business training and seed money to begin a more sustainable income generating activity and improve the family's stability.
