Joshua Hur was born on January 6, 2019. He joined the C.G.A. Nursery (PP1) class in January 2025. Joshua is the third-born in a family of five children. His eldest brother and sister also attend C.G.A. His father works at the school in the grounds and maintenance department and also serves as a pastor at a local church. His mother is a homemaker who takes care of the family. The family lives in their own two-bedroom permanent house, about a 30-minute walk from the school. Their home does not have running water or electricity. They fetch water from the lake for household use and treat it for drinking. Washing is done by the lakeside. The family uses solar energy for lighting and cooks with firewood in an outdoor kitchen. Joshua sleeps on a mat on the floor, sharing bedding with his siblings. The family also accommodates three additional children supported by his father. Joshua previously attended a nearby private school, and his family is grateful and happy to have their third child join the C.G.A. program.
