Kalkidan was 10 when she joined the PATH International Community Based Care Program in 2025.

Kalkidan Kiflu was in the fifth group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2025 at the age of 10, living in Chiro with her mother and three brothers. At the time, Kalkidan was enrolled in Grade 3 at Nafyaad Private School. At school, she enjoys learning Math and especially likes playing soccer with her friends. When she grows up, Kalkidan hopes to become a doctor. Kalkidan's mother, Alem Tedase, entered the program in 2025. Through PATH, she will receive business training and seed money to begin her own income generating activity and work toward providing greater stability and opportunity for her children.
