Leila Musa was in the fifth group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2025 at the age of 8, living in Chiro with her older sister. At the time, Leila was enrolled in Grade 1 at Elemo Qultuu School. At school, she enjoys learning Afan Oromo and especially likes playing hide and seek with her friends. When she grows up, Leila hopes to become a doctor.
Leila's older sister, Derartu Musa, entered the program at 25 years old with no formal education. She supports the household by working as a daily laborer and washing clothes for others. The family lives in a rented government-owned mud house that is currently in poor condition. Through PATH, Derartu will receive business training and seed money to begin her own income generating activity and strengthen the family's financial stability.
