Makiba was born in 2014. She joined the PATH International Community Based Care Program in 2023.

Makiba Yonas was in the third group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2023. She was 9 years old when she joined PATH, and she lives with her mother. Makiba enjoys studying English at school, and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up. Her mother, Sisay Solomon, came into the program at 28 years old with only a 7th grade education. She currently works as a house maid to support her family, and she is excited to receive business training from PATH in order to improve her business knowledge and start her own coffee and food stand.
