MOVINTA SHARON was born March 1st, 2008. She joined CGA’s nursery school in January, 2014. She is the third born of 4 siblings. Her father was a fisherman on one of the Kenyan islands of Lake Victoria. He fell sick and died in August 2013. They were forced to move back home in Mbita since the breadwinner of the family had died. They live on their ancestral land in a semi-permanent house. It is made of mud walls and floors with a tin roof. They have very little in the way of furnishings. They have running water in the compound but no electricity. They use paraffin for lighting, they have a toilet for everyone in the homestead. Movinta’s mother has no source of income yet. The family survives from the help of close relatives and well-wishers support, so life is not very easy. Movinta and her older sibling are blessed to get a chance in CGA. They will be able to get a quality education that their widowed mom could not have afforded. The mother is very grateful to God and we hope to see God’s plan fulfilled in Movinta’s life at CGA.  2017 Update: Movinta's uncle has helped her mother put up another semi permanent house made of iron sheet in their own land and compound. 2019 Update: Movinta Is doing very well at CGA. She is in grade Four and this is her 6th year. She has grown tall and strong. She is one of the best football players in her class. She is also doing very well in her class work. She scored an A grade on her last term exam. Her best subjects are Kiswahili and Social Studiies. When at home, Movinta together with her older sister Ivone of grade 8, do help their mother with house chores like collecting firewood, fetching water, cleaning the house, washing utensils, etc... Her older brother goes to a public school but her youngest sister Asenath Adah of Pre-Primary class comes to CGA too. Movinta's mother does not do any income generating activities. She and her children are supported by the uncle, a brother to Movinta's father. 2022 Update: This is Movinta's ninth year at CGA. She is currently in Grade seven and is fourteen years old. Her eldest sister is currently in Form two in a boarding school.
