Nelly Darrels was born on September 4, 2019. She joined CGA Grade One in 2026. Nelly lives with her widowed mother and older sister, about a forty-five-minute walk from CGA. Her mother supports the family through a small-scale business. They live in a spacious rented permanent house within Mbita town, with electricity and running water. Lake water is also fetched for cleaning. They use propane gas and charcoal for cooking. Nelly sleeps on a mattress spread on the floor under a mosquito net.
