Nuredin Hussein was in the fifth group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2025 at the age of 8, living in Chiro with his mother, one brother, and one sister. At the time, Nuredin was enrolled in Grade 1 at Much Ahmed Muche School. At school, he enjoys learning Math and especially likes running and playing with his friends. When he grows up, Nuredin hopes to become a doctor.
Nuredin's mother, Zara Ahimed, entered the program at 50 years old with an elementary education. She supports her children by working as a daily laborer and engaging in small retail activities. The family lives in a rented government-owned mud house that is currently in poor condition. Through PATH, Zara will receive business training and seed money to begin a more sustainable income generating activity and strengthen the family's economic stability.
