Saron Eskindir was in the fifth group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2025 at the age of 8, living in Chiro with her mother and one sister. At the time, Saron was enrolled in Grade 2 at Much Ahmed Muche School. At school, she enjoys learning Amharic and especially likes running and playing with her friends. When she grows up, Saron hopes to become a doctor.
Saron's mother, Worke Kebede, entered the program at 45 years old with no formal education. She supports her children by washing clothes for others. The family lives in a rented government-owned mud house that is currently in poor condition. Through PATH, Worke will receive business training and seed money to begin a more sustainable income generating activity and strengthen the family's economic stability.
