Shanel Mercy, born on August 18, 2021, joined CGA Pre-Primary One in 2026. She is the third-born in a family of four children. She lives with her aunt, a CGA kitchen staff member, in rural Mbita, about a thirty-minute walk from CGA. Her siblings live elsewhere with their widowed mother. The household has no running water or electricity and relies on lake water, solar lighting, and firewood and charcoal for cooking. Shanel sleeps on a bed and mattress. Her aunt is thankful for her enrollment at CGA.
