Soliyana Asegid was in the fourth group of Community Based Care (CBC) students in Ethiopia, joining PATH in 2024. She was 11 years old when she joined PATH, and she lives with her mother and one sibling. At school, Soliyana enjoys learning math and jumping rope with her friends, and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up. Her mom, Genet Zegeye, came into the program at 35 years old with no educational background. She currently works by making and selling a local staple food called injera to bring in an income for her family, and she is hopeful to receive business training from PATH to expand this business and become more profitable.
