Vivian is a total orphan. Both of her parents died and she lives with her uncle and aunt. They live in a rented, two room house. They use water provided by the government for cooking and drinking but do their cleaning at the lake.

Vivian Atieno was born July 5th 2010. She joined nursery school at CGA in January, 2014. Both of her parents died and she lives with her uncle and aunt in Mbita. They live in a rented, two room house about a mile away from CGA. Vivian’s two older siblings live with their maternal grandmother. Vivian sleeps on a couch under a mosquito net. They use water provided by the government for cooking and drinking, but do their cleaning at the lakeshores. Vivian will be one of the youngest students in her class and we look forward to seeing her grow strong at CGA. 2017 Update: Vivian's uncle lost his job and so he relocated from Mbita leaving behind Vivian. She is currently living with her aunt's family in a three bedroomed house located up the hill on the other side of CGA. It takes her about an hour to walk to school.
