Take Action Ministry Newsletter - Sep 2017 Posted about ago

At Take Action Ministry, we desire to bring Kingdom transformation to communities by equipping local leaders to impact the lives of the vulnerable children they care for. We do not enter into this work alone, but do it with the help and support from you, our volunteers and sponsors, as well as the hard-working men and women who are daily serving at our partner centres. Enjoy these glimpses into some of the work that has taken place this winter.

WE HAVE MOVED

Take Action Ministry has a new Distribution Centre and Office. After a few years and many struggles with our landlord at our previous location, we have been blessed with an amazing new place to minister from, in a much more secure area and our new landlord who has a heart for the work that we are doing in the Hammanskraal community. We will be sharing this space with a security company that we know from our old location once renovations are complete. If you want to check out our new space in person, we’d love to show you around.

THANK YOU

We would like to express our thanks to Wanda Rous for her many years of service and ministry. Many of you know Wanda personally or met her through one of the many Take Action events she was involved in. For all of us, life is a constant changing of seasons, and while we will miss Wanda’s insight, humor and servant heart on our operations team, we are thankful for the time she was with us and wish her God’s blessings as she seeks out what He has planned for her.

CELEBRATION DAY
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Celebration Day at Mlambo Day Care and After Care Centre on 26 August. What an amazing difference you all made by showing up, making a plan, and working together on this day.

Our next Celebration Day will be at Ramotse Skhulekile on 25 November. More details will follow in our October newsletter. If you want to be involved in the planning of this event, which includes preparations for painting, please contact us on: 076 351 2175

TRAINING

Over thirty volunteers, representing fifteen day care and after school centres, attended training's from Child Evangelism Fellowship on 16 and 23 May. These sessions equipped the volunteers with skills to present the message of salvation, as well as teaching them new ways to teach Bible Stories and Bible memorization through games and songs. In July, a follow up event was held for teachers to make and laminate visual aids to use at their centres.

TRANSPORT

We are looking at upgrading our bakkie for a more reliable vehicle to better transport food and various other donations to our partner centers. If you have any connections or recommendations please contact Darin on: 079 810 4797
