These
words from Psalm 34 certainly proved true for 2017.
The year was not without its difficult moments; times where
all we could do was lean in and trust that God was in this
ministry and He was for the work that was being done. In looking
back over the past 12 months, there is so much visible evidence
of the goodness of the Lord. We believe that the work God has for
Take Action Ministry is only getting started!
5 centres (pictured
below) received makeovers, either as part of a Celebration Day,
corporate or private event. In addition, the Community Centre at
Reagoboka was almost completed, building started up again at
Maubane Rivoningo and Ditebogo now has an ablution block!
In addition, new financial systems were
put in place in March, allowing Take Action to independently and
transparently provide accountability to our donors and sponsors.
In May, Take Action Ministry was registered as a PBO. This
registration allows us to provide Section 18A tax certificates to
South African donors, allowing their once-off or monthly
donations to be tax deductible. Donors from the USA can also
receive a tax deduction by giving through Pure Charity. For more
information on how you can give, please contact us at info@takeaction.org.za
All of the amazing things described
above would not have been possible without the involvement and
support from all of you! Take Action Ministry depends on our
volunteers and donors for so much of the work that is done;
going out and participating in Celebration Days; advocating for
the needs of our partner centres; spreading the word about
programs like the Reading Holiday Club, Bible Drive and so much
more.
However, there is a great deal of
behind the scenes work that is done on a daily, weekly, and
monthly basis by members of the operations team. This includes,
but is not limited to meeting with various stakeholders in
government and private business; working on social media;
visiting partner centres on a monthly basis; coordinating and
managing the distribution of food donations; handling the
financial aspects of running an organization; and making sure
we are accountable and transparent in all we do.
In order for Take Action Ministry to do all that God has called
us to, we are looking for people or companies to parner with us
financially. We have worked out a budget for 2018 that will
allow us to continue serving our partner centres in the greater
Hammanskraal area and also grow unto a few new areas that God
has been nudging us towards.
If you are able to give on a monthly
or once off basis, or if you would like to know more about our
proposed budget, please contact Annelien on 082 441 6298 or annelien@takeaction.org.za
