We are the VanKoevering Family.Currently we are a family of 5 [Dad - Cam, Mom - Shannon and 3 beautiful girls, Tate, Quinn & Haidyn] We are exc...
No major updates so far this year.
We had our last homestudy visit on December 31st.
Now we wait for our social worker to write up
the finished homestudy and then we can take
the next step which is to apply with US Immigration.
We will also start applying for several grants, and
focusing more time on fundraising.
All in all it will cost somewhere between 30 and 40
thousand dollars to get our sweet girl home.
This is money that we do not have!
And it is a pretty scary number to look at.
But...it has been amazing already to watch God
place just the right amount of money in our account
at just the right time.
First the homestudy...with $80 to spare.
and now, as we anticipate sending off the Immigration
application...we are just $35 short...but I have no dought
that God will button that up just in time too.
We are, however, reaching the point were the fees due
will be jumping from a thousand or two...to several thousand
or ten. It is VERY easy to wonder and worry.
BUT...when I step back and remember exactly who's story this
is, I feel peace again and realize that He has this. He could open
the flood gates and fill out adoption fund to overflowing in a matter
of days, or minutes even. But that would not teach us anything, would it.
It is a journey of faithfulness. It started with a leap of faith...and it has
been one faithful step after another. That's the thing about God.
He does like to teach us things along the way.
So, we are reaching out and giving others a chance to be faithful with us!!
We have been blown away by the genorosity we have already seen
through our Pure Charity Fundraiser. And when we step back and
look at the big picture...if 10 people [some complete strangers]
can give a combined $2000...I trust that God has big things in mind
when He works in the hearts of the 100+ people who will be recieving a letter from us.
I look forward to all the things that God has in store for this year.
I feel like the stand out theme will certainly be Faithfulness. Not
only Gods amazing faithfulness toward us, but also my increasing
faithfulness as well. And my realization of how much peace comes
when I just have faith.
Happy New Year.
