Team Chanje is Running Reebok Ragnar So Cal!
Friends and Family,
As you know by now, I have a heart for Haiti. I recently went on my 3rd Mission Trip to Haiti in February with the Chanje Movement organization.
April 3rd - 4th I am participating in a 200 mile continuous run from Huntington Beach to San Diego to raise money for the Chanje Movement. The run consists of a 12 person team with each person running 3 legs consisting anywhere from 3-10 miles. To add to the madness we will all be in one van and likely get no sleep.
"Why", you may ask why we are doing such a crazy thing? Well the answer is, we strongly believe in what the Chanje Movement is doing to help the Haitian people.
During my three trips to Haiti I have seen first hand the impact the Chanje Movement has had.
Here are a few highlights:
-
Chanje Lakay - This is a shelter fully supported by Chanje Movement. Chanje Lakay opened in 2013 and has taken in 35+ kids that have been abandoned. These kids are very well taken care of, fed, and are provided onsite education. I have seen so much growth in these kids specifically the girl my family sponsors. This last trip she was speaking to me in English with words/phrases she has learned. She in turn proceeded to challenge me to learn Creole words. Such an amazing experience!
-
Camille Family House Build - Mr. Camille worked at Chanje Lakay for a number of years and last year passed away. He left behind a wife and four boys. The Chanje Movement moved to action and are building the Camille family a house. I am so grateful I got a chance to participate in this build while I was there. Over the years Chanje has built a number houses for other individuals in need.

Field of Dreams - During my trip in 2017, the Chanje Movement leadership shared a vision of purchasing a property so they can build a new shelter, trade school, church, and multi-purpose building to support community activities. That year we walked and prayed over a property they were looking at. During my trip in 2018 the property had been purchased and the foundation was laid and walls were going up for a multi-purpose building. This year I got to see the fully built building and experience 350+ kids experiencing pure joy in this building during a community outreach we did. Every Saturday an outreach event takes place which includes singing, bible lesson, and food. This building has been used as a medical facility when Chanje sends a medical team on mission. I am looking forward to contributing to and seeing the progress for this site.
I would love for you to be able to participate in this experience. You can do so by praying for our team, the people of Haiti, and donating money for this cause. Will you please partner with me and my team today!
God Bless,
Rob
