Hello family, friends, and friends of friends!

First, I want to thank you for stopping by to read up on why I am crowd-funding for the opportunity to travel to Zimbabwe. Regardless if you leave this page having donated or not, I am grateful that I got a few moments of your time.

My name is Brianna Kirschner. My husband Ben and I have the blessing of raising three amazing, crazy little boys.

Of all the things I want for my boys in a sometimes cold and disconnected world, is to receive and feel love, patience, and compassion. As a parent, it is a challenge to do this on a daily basis as we go through our chaotic routines and we can often miss opportunities to show and teach our children these three simple, yet very complex and significant things. 

For the past couple months, I have been serving as one of the classroom leaders in the children’s ministry at Westside: A Jesus Church. Through this program, I was presented with the chance to travel to Zimbabwe and spend time with children to show them the same kind of love I would for my own. 

Zimbabwe has the most orphans per capita in the world with 1.8 million of the 14 million population being orphans. Unfortunately, both internal and external adopting is basically non-existing there, meaning this problem isn’t getting any better. Our church has partnered with Hands of Hope for many years and we fully fund 5 different homes that house around 60 kids total.

Each of these kids have all gone through an incredible amount of trauma, grief, and loss, and our team would provide them an amazing opportunity to allow them to play, laugh, and be kids.

In the wake of my 30th birthday, I have decided this would be a year of selflessness and service. On that same list, I vowed to step out of my comfort zone, be unapologetically me, and be a light of love and positivity. When presented with this chance to go on this mission trip, I knew that I would regret it if I didn’t try to make it happen.
