I had not planned to go on a mission trip this year...But God...In a moment a had a divine appointment to speak with a leader with e3partners who had been praying for a nurse to go along on their mission trip to Moyobamba, Peru in August of this year.
As I spoke with him, my heart was filled with the a compassion to minister to the unreached people groups in that area. I could see myself walking with my backpack filled with medicines and sharing the gospel with them.
Little did I know his team had been praying for a nurse to go along with them. At the right time ...God shows up.
The answer is, when God calls, are you going to be obedient? Their was no hesitation for me...I said yes Lord...I will go.
I am honored to go with this ministry team and look forward to how God will use us.
E3partners have established a relationship with these amazing people group where there home is known as the “The City of Orchids,” Moyobamba serves as the capital of Peru’s northeastern San Martin region. The beautiful settlement of 42,000 people overlooks the Mayo river and serves as a gateway to the northeastern Amazon. The city was originally settled in 1540 as a missions base for the Roman Catholic Church, resulting in a mixed population. Surprisingly, over 70% of Moyobamba’s people are caucasian, hailing from all over western Europe.
Despite its culturally Christian roots, much of Peru is considered unreached. Of the country’s 103 people groups, eight of them fall into this category, impacting 153,000 lives. The majority of Peru’s remaining groups still lack any significant evangelical population.
What We’re Doing
e3 Partners first branched into Moyobamba in March. This is our second expedition to the region and serves as a chance to continue our work from the Spring. Throughout the week, we will share the story of Jesus with the community and build relationships with local partners. As individuals receive Christ, they will be organized into new small groups that serve as the seeds for future churches.
This is a new day and a new hour-beyond your prayers, if you are led to join me by financially supporting this mission trip so I can be a messenger of hope. I would be grateful. This is a journey God has called me to and I would greatly appreciate any level of support you are able to offer.
Cost of the trip is 2750.00. Deadine for amount is due by July 15, 2015.
With Love, Doria Stewart
