Thank you for reading about my fundraiser! One of the biggest passions in my life thus far is doing meaningful work in missions. In the past, I've traveled to Kenya for mission work in an orphanage, and I've spent three months volunteering with a nonprofit in very rough area of Hawaii. I can't wait to continue this passion of mine by traveling to Chiang Mai, Thailand this December, 2015! I will be traveling with the women of my sorority, the Oregon Alpha chapter of Pi Beta Phi at the University of Oregon. We will be working with an organization called Remember Nhu, whose goal is to end child sex slavery, which is a huge issue throughout Thailand. We will be teaching sexual education to young girls who were preventatively removed from high-risk environments where they could have been sold into the sex trafficking system. Additionally, Pi Phis feel very passionate about children's literacy, and we will also bring English language books to help the girls improve their reading skills in English. We are so excited to experience a different culture and to work for a cause that empowers women and girls! I would so appreciate any donations you are able to make.
