bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.” Isaiah 1:17
What is International
Justice Mission?
I recently graduated from
Wheaton with a double major in Psychology and Spanish. God has recently opened
a door for me to use my education to serve others facing injustice in a
developing country. I have been accepted to intern with IJM at their office in
La Paz, Bolivia. I will be serving as an Aftercare Intern supporting women and
children survivors who have been rescued from sexual abuse or violence. I first
heard about IJM from my cousin who also did an internship with them and
encouraged me to apply. In the process of applying and researching the
organization, I fell in love with its mission. I believe that IJM is the
perfect fit for me in pursuing my passion to fight injustice.
The mission of
International Justice Mission (IJM) is to protect people from violence by
rescuing victims, bringing criminals to justice, restoring survivors to safety
and strength, and helping local law enforcement build a safe future that lasts.
My internship is unpaid as
I learn from, support, and serve the existing staff in Bolivia. Therefore, I
need to raise $24,500 to cover my expenses of my involvement in supporting and
caring for the women and children. I am looking for people who believe in me
and the mission of IJM and desire to partner with me as I support and serve the
existing staff in Bolivia. Please prayerfully consider how God might want you
to come alongside me in fighting to end violence and, in the meantime, to
compassionately care for those who have been caught within its evil grasps.
