Laundry Love Sussex helps to wash the clothes and bedding of low/no income families and person(s) across Sussex County Delaware. Its mission is to brighten the lives of hundreds of people each month through Love, Dignity, and Detergent. It seeks to bring economic relief by providing the individual or family the option to redirect funds toward food, medicine, insurance, appliances, school supplies, transportation, and other basic everyday necessities. We believe it's crucial to create a way for all people to live with dignity, and for our guests/friends to be afforded the opportunity to care for themselves and their families.

• Laundry Love Sussex is more than clean clothes. It is what happens inside the laundromat that makes it so special. Relationships are fostered, diminishing “us” and “them” language, while demonstrating our human capacity for love, kindness, and generosity.
• Laundry Love Sussex inspires churches, nonprofits, clubs and organizations, local businesses, corporations, and everyday citizens to see the dignifying effect clean clothes has on all people.
• A basic human need is to be accepted. There is emotional and social strain unwashed clothing places on low to no income children and youth. The teasing that occurs in an elementary or junior high setting is heightened when a young person's clothing is stained and emits an unpleasant odor. Laundry Love Sussex exists to help prevent this social and emotional strain.
• Regular washing of clothes and bedding helps to remove any bacteria, dirt, fleas, mites and other irritants or infection. Clean clothes contribute to good personal hygiene, preventing the spread of germs and bacteria that can spread illness in schools and social settings.
• The cost of washing clothes is just another financial burden on low-income families and individuals. $7.75 or more to wash a single load, and $.25 for four (4) minutes to dry adds up quickly. Skyrocketing housing costs along the Delaware beaches are putting families, single parents with children and individuals under tremendous daily economic pressures. Laundry Love Sussex, in a very practical way, is assisting with helping to defray these costs.
