7 women, 1 village, 11 homes, 188 children, and untold numbers of changed lives! This unique team comprised of women from A Jesus Church Westside and Sunset will spend time with the house moms at Bethany Village who are each caring for and raising up some amazing young orphan children. Our goal on this trip is to help equip the women with skills that help with the economic development of their individual house. Skills such as tailoring, jewelry making, gardening, quilting, embroidery and the like are possible means to a business they can bring to the marketplace to support and better their provisions for the kids in their homes. Part of our time in Uganda will be spent providing assistance to the women as they learn to expand their skills in these areas and thereby improve the economic situation for their homes.
Our time will also bring encouragement to their physical, emotional and spiritual well being through exercise, nutritional guidance, Bible study on God's heart for raising kids, conversation, and just sharing in their hearts and lives.
In short, as members of this team, we will have the privilege to serve as God's hands to lift up, God's arms to embrace, and God's lips to teach and speak words of encouragement to the amazing women of Bethany Village. By prayerfully considering a partnership with us, whether your partnership is through financial support or by holding us all up in prayer, or both, you are allowing God to use you to serve these women and the children entrusted to their care too. I can't wait to see what God does through all of our combined efforts.
Important Information about Hear The Cry Trips:
- Trip cost includes airfare, food, lodging, insurance, ground transportation, supplies and excursions. Team members are responsible for any additional snacks and souvenirs during travel.
- Interviews for each team took place on the Application Deadline date for the trip.
- Passports are required for all destinations, and must be valid for 6 months past the date of departure. Allow 4-6 weeks for any passport application and processing time.
- Upon acceptance to the team, a non-refundable deposit of $25 was required and our fundraising and online profiles were created. The balance of the trip cost is due on October 21st, two weeks prior to departure.
