Look at the nations and watch- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.
-Habakkuk 1:5
When I approached our College and Career group at church about sponsoring a child in January of 2015, I never in my wildest dreams anticipated on all the blessings our sponsorship would bring. We sponsored Ida from Burkina Faso, Africa and I instantly fell in love. It was only a few short weeks later I was given the opportunity to go to Burkina Faso to pour the love of my savior upon the precious children that live there. While I was there I was united with our very own Ida, and my heart was forever changed.
In the months leading up to Burkina I was hesitant about God's will for my life. Talking to a precious friend of mine about her passion for missions only solidified the burning feeling in my gut that God was calling me to trust him deeper, to go out further, and to leave my comfort zone in ways I never imagined I would. Sitting under a shady tree, I poured my heart out (and my tears) into the lap of my friend as she prayed with me. It was then I knew that sponsoring Ida was no mistake. She led me to my purpose; The great commission. It was there under that huge tree I decided I would go where HE would call me. My acceptance only grew stronger the following Sunday when a missionary from Uganda came and, while he was preaching, pointed right at me and said "I know there are people in here that are feeling the call to missions and I am here to tell you that God is telling you NOW IS YOUR TIME." Never have I felt so at peace about the purpose of my life. Here I am Lord, your SERVANT listens. Here I am Lord, send me.
So now, here I am. Accepting his call once again to go out and share the majesty of my Jesus. I will be going with E3 to Myambeno Mara, Africa. The goal of this expedition is to find, lead, and disciple local believers who will be willing to spread the Gospel, disciple those who are ready to follow Jesus, and serve in the new church(es) that will, Lord willing, be planted in their area. Through home-to-home evangelism and small groups, we will connect with individuals who have potential to influence their community. Once we have left, these local partners will continue to disciple and encourage new believers.
Yes, it is scary. Yes, I am expecting great things through him who strengthens me. I cannot do this alone. With that being said, I am asking for your help. Will your pray for me? Will you pray for the people of Myambeno Mara? Will you pray for our team? While you are praying, will you consider sponsoring me financially? I have a goal of $3650 to go on this trip and I know the Lord will provide. No gift is too small. Not everyone can join me on the plane and not everyone can give, but everyone can pray. Join me friends, in prayer as we saturate this trip in His holy power.
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you.
