well, I got our completed home study today! This means we can file our I800A paperwork (immigration), get our fingerprint appointment scheduled and start applying for grants! So exciting to be one step closer!
submitting our LOI (letter of intent) and our referral agreement tonight- this will "lock" in our boy for our family once it is submitted to China :) We're doing this first and have an extension for the first agency fee, as we continue to fundraise. Submitting these also involves an Orphanage Partnership Fee, so it will set us back a little bit from what we raised so far for the agency fee- but...
We just had our last home visit for our home study this past Sunday. I have to say- I really love our social worker and I think she has a lot of wisdom and insight from years of experience. So now, we wait for her to write it up...once we have this in hand, we can start applying for grants which we pray will help fund some of the costs.
